If you know me, my life has always been a chaotic mess. Always. I needed something to help keep everything organized. First thing that popped in my head was to get a planner. So I did. I fell in love with The Happy Planner brand. There are several different sections and ways to breakdown the month/week/day. But as much as I wanted it to work, it hasn't. While I’ve tried to pre-plan what I wanted to get done in the week, I found myself not getting any done. A lot of it has to do with having unrealistic expectations. And some has to do with "whoops" moments - unplanned bumps in the road. I thought that by having a section at the end of each week that I hold myself accountable for unfinished tasks would help, it hasn’t. So I sat down and reevaluated my life. After accepting that I needed to have more realistic goals, I've slimmed down on my pre-planned tasks. I have also added a separate column to write in exactly what I did that day, to help realize and accept that life happens. Planners aren't for everyone. Some people can't function without one. It's all about finding a happy medium in which you can keep you life straight.
